Register for a Webinar on Effective Supervision Strategies for Probationers with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Disorder

Join the Fox Valley Technical College (FVTC) National Criminal Justice Training Center (NCJTC) for the webinar “Reducing Recidivism: Improving Supervision Outcomes for Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Disorder (FASD) Probationers” on Wednesday, August 30 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. ET. During the webinar, participants will learn how FASD can often impair probationers’ ability to understand and comply with probation conditions.

Presenter Ruth Richardson, Director of Programs and National Strategic Initiatives at the Minnesota Organization on Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, will examine:

  • The challenges FASD probationers face in meeting probation requirements;
  • The reasons why FASD probationers have a higher risk of recidivism; and
  • Effective supervision and recidivism reduction strategies for FASD probationers.

Ms. Richardson will also share valuable tools and resources to help attendees improve successful outcomes for FASD probationers. These resources are especially helpful for court system personnel, correctional officers, social workers, victim service providers, and community members, including tribal partners.
