Register for the Commonwealth of Virginia’s 2013 Governor’s Summit on Human Trafficking sponsored by the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services and various state agencies. The one and a half-day summit will take place October 3-4 at the Omni Hotel in Richmond, Virginia. The objective of the summit is to raise awareness of human trafficking at both the national and state level and to bring together federal, state, and local agencies and stakeholders to promote a coordinated response to human trafficking in Virginia. The state agencies working on this topic are striving to coordinate efforts, enhance training opportunities, and provide accurate and current information on ways to combat human trafficking and assist victims. Guest speakers include Brook Bello, Executive Director of More Too Life, Inc., and Kursten A. Phelps, Immigration Staff Attorney, Tahirih Justice Center.
