Read NPRC’s Resource Package for Paroling Authorities on Offenders with Mental Illnesses and/or Substance Use Disorders

The National Parole Resource Center (NPRC), with support of the Bureau of Justice Assistance, recently released the Resource Package for Offenders with Mental Illnesses and/or Substance Use Disorders. This resource provides an introduction to some of the challenges paroling authorities face when serving individuals with mental illnesses and/or substance use disorders, along with a summary of the latest research and strategic thinking in the field.

The resource is part of NPRC’s efforts to support paroling authorities as they learn and apply the lessons of evidence-based practice and to promote effective collaborations with other criminal justice and community partners.
