The Police Foundation recently launched a new essay series entitled On Policing. The purpose of this essay series is to capture the opinions and ideas of prominent voices in modern-day policing. The essays are also intended to stimulate debate about the state of policing today – and the many challenges law enforcement agencies and the community face – with an ultimate goal of promoting change based on lessons learned.
In the first essay published, San Bernardino (CA) Police Chief Jarrod Burguan and San Bernardino County Sheriff John McMahon discuss the December 2015 terror attack and offer lessons on how other law enforcement practitioners can prepare for similar events.
