Learn about Funding Available under the STOP School Violence Act of 2018

Join the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) and the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS Office) for the webinar “STOP School Violence Act of 2018 Funding Opportunities” on Tuesday, July 3 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. ET. During this webinar, participants will receive an overview of the Students, Teachers, and Officers Preventing (STOP) School Violence Act of 2018 solicitations available from the COPS Office and BJA.

The STOP School Violence Act of 2018 supports the efforts of states, local governments, and tribal governments to improve security at schools and on school grounds through evidence-based school safety programs. This year, the COPS Office’s School Violence Prevention Program will provide up to $25 million to support school safety measures ranging from coordination with law enforcement to metal detectors, locks, lighting, and other deterrent measures. Additionally, BJA will award up to approximately $21 million through the BJA STOP School Violence Threat Assessment and Technology Reporting Program and up to $26 million through the BJA STOP School Violence Prevention and Mental Health Training Program to reduce and prevent violence by creating threat assessment teams, using technology to report suspicious activity, and creating school safety and mental health programs.
