Join the Office of Justice Programs on October 21 for a Discussion on a Community-Based Approach to Juvenile Justice

The Office of Justice Programs (OJP) will host the webinar event “A Community-Based Approach to Juvenile Justice” on Friday, October 21 at 10:00 a.m. ET. Patrick McCarthy, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Annie E. Casey Foundation, and Vincent Schiraldi, Senior Research Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Program in Criminal Justice, will present their recent paper (co-authored with Miriam Shark), which promotes a continuum of community-based programs and age-appropriate rehabilitation via small, homelike facilities as replacements for the current youth prison model.

Other featured speakers will include Karol V. Mason, Assistant Attorney General for OJP; Nancy Rodriguez, Director of the National Institute of Justice; and Robert L. Listenbee, Administrator of the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention. Participants may attend this engaging discussion via livestream.
