Join The CSG Justice Center Live Stream Training – Building Successful Criminal Justice and Mental Health Partnerships

Please join The Council of State Governments (CSG) Justice Center on Thursday, September 17 from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. ET for the “Building Successful Criminal Justice and Mental Health Partnerships” live stream. The session will identify common challenges to creating effective collaborative partnerships, in addition to providing practical guidance for building effective and sustainable relationships among agencies and service providers. The CSG Justice Center promotes effective data-driven practices –particularly in areas in which the criminal justice system intersects with other disciplines – to provide practical solutions to public safety and cross-systems problems.

Mental health is one such area, as individuals with mental illness are significantly overrepresented in corrections settings. However, while mental health and criminal justice agencies often respond to the same populations, they don’t always understand each other’s goals and responsibilities.

This training will be especially beneficial to members of law enforcement, mental health agencies, behavioral health service providers, community-based service providers, court professionals, probation and parole staff, reentry and transition planning staff, and others. The session will be facilitated by Nicole Jarrett, Deputy Program Manager of the CSG Justice Center.
