Each year the Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) leads communities in observing National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (NCVRW), which promotes the connection of crime victims to support and services. As part of this effort and through the NCVRW Community Awareness Project (CAP), the National Association of VOCA (Victims of Crime Act) Assistance Administrators – with the cooperation of OVC – is reimbursing at least 60 communities up to $5,000 each to conduct public awareness initiatives during the April 8 – 14, 2018 NCVRW.
Proposals should emphasize public awareness of crime victims’ rights and services for all types of crime, as well as focus on the upcoming year’s theme, “Expand the Circle. Reach All Victims.” Eligible applicants include public agencies, nonprofit organizations, community-based victim service organizations, faith-based organizations, tribal organizations, and community coalitions. Applications are due Monday, October 16, 2017.
