Check Out NFSTC's Updated Crime Scene Investigation Manual

The National Forensic Science Technology Center (NFSTC) recently released an updated edition of Crime Scene Investigation: A Guide for Law Enforcement, which was originally released in 2000. The updated version provides law enforcement professionals and first responders step-by-step guidance on a complete range of crime investigation tasks – from securing the scene to submitting the evidence. The guide discusses the fundamental principles of investigating a crime scene and preserving evidence and contains everything professionals need to know in order to yield reliable information.

The guide is intended for use by law enforcement and other responders who have responsibilities for protecting crime scenes, preserving physical evidence, and collecting and submitting the evidence for scientific examination.

The guide is available for download on all major e-readers, smart phones and tablet services. To download the updated guide, click here.
