BJA NTTAC is offering resources to the Taos, NM Police Department (TPD) to facilitate training and technical assistance (TTA) in the delivery of Crime Analysis on Demand resources. BJA NTTAC has funded the Crime Mapping and Analysis Program at Washington College in Maryland. The program staff at Washington College will perform a needs assessment in the Taos area. As part of the needs assessment, the staff met with Taos law enforcement agencies and local government officials in early June. During the visit, Washington College staff also held a public meeting to discuss what crime analysis is, how other agencies across the nation use crime analysis, and other projects they have worked on to provide the Taos community with a better understanding of crime analysis.
