Attend an OJJDP and Midwest Regional Children’s Advocacy Center Webinar on the Co-occurrence of Domestic Violence and Child Abuse

Join the Midwest Regional Children’s Advocacy Center and the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) for the webinar “From an Advocate's Perspective: Domestic Violence and Child Abuse” on Thursday, February 9 from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. ET. During this webinar, instructor Beth Olson will provide participants with information on the co-occurrence of domestic violence and child abuse, including specific tactics used by batterers. She will outline how children are often subject to domestic violence behaviors by the abusive parent after separation. Participants will also learn about methods for improving safety for battered parents and children, as well as ideas for systemic change designed to improve long-term safety.

Ms. Olson is the executive director at the First Witness Child Advocacy Center and an adjunct instructor at The College of St. Scholastica. She has more than 25 years of experience as an advocate for child and adult victims of sexual and domestic violence.
