During this webinar hosted by the Association of Prosecuting Attorneys (APA), panelists will discuss two recently released National Institute of Justice studies that document the rich variety and efficacy of prosecutor-led diversion programs being used by prosecutors from across the nation. Panelists will illustrate how these programs are reducing convictions and collateral consequences, reducing recidivism, reducing the need for costly incarceration, and saving limited criminal justice system dollars and resources. They will also discuss how criminal justice practitioners and researchers can work together to better inform evidence-based practice.
Panelists include:
- Robert Hood, Director of the Community and Violent Crime Division, APA;
- Michael Rempel, Research Director, Center for Court Innovation; and
- Jeffrey Altenburg, Deputy District Attorney, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin District Attorney’s Office.
APA is seeking one credit of Continuing Legal Education credit from the State of Washington for this webinar and can help attorney attendees qualify this webinar for CLE credit in their own jurisdictions.
