2022 Community Based Violence Intervention (CVI) Webinar Series

The Implementing Community Based Violence Intervention Strategies webinar series highlighted a wide range of issues important to successfully implementing Community Violence Intervention (CVI) strategies. Using the BJA CVI Checklist as a framework, the series walked through the stages of planning and implementation of CVI strategies and take a deeper dive into opportunities and challenges that jurisdictions face as they implement these strategies in their communities.

The webinar series was hosted on the second Wednesday of each month from September 2022 to January 2023, from 1-3pm ET. The webinars were recorded, and the recordings are available below.

The webinar series is in support of the Office of Justice Program's (OJP) Community Based Violence Intervention and Prevention Initiative (CVIPI), a recently launched program that will provide significant federal investment in evidence-informed strategies to reduce violence through tailored community-centered initiatives. In June 2022, President Biden signed the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act into law, which invests an additional $250 million in critical CVI strategies over the next five years. The Community Based Violence Intervention and Prevention Initiative, among other resources provided by the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, will help seed and expand the community infrastructure needed to complement law enforcement activities and strengthen our neighborhoods.
