This webinar is designed to address issues related to using administrative data. Learning to use administrative data is both an art and a skill. Management information systems that house specific data elements, such as arrests, convictions, probation intakes, behavioral health intakes, and discharge data, are the cornerstone of most agencies. Administrative data are useful in evaluations of grant programs from process to implementation to outcome studies.

In this session, we will consider the dimensions of appropriateness and how they can be incorporated into an implementation plan. Appropriateness refers to whether one believes, has an opinion, or feels that the innovation should be part of an agency’s process or system design. Too often, we fail to consider whether others believe the innovation is correct for an agency or even the overall system. The IAM helps measure this.

Appropriateness and feasibility are related to the ideas that your grant is aligned with your agency, organization, or system and that it can be folded into existing operations or moderately change the operations. In this session, we will explore how to understand the concepts of appropriateness and feasibility and ensure that these issues are raised early in the implementation of your grant. We will emphasize how to use process outcomes to advance implementation and garner support for your agency.
