The PDMP TTAC team hosts and facilitates monthly conference calls with the RxCheck Working Group; PMIX Working Group; PMIX Operations, Technical, and Standards Compliance Subcommittees; and ad hoc committees as needed to support the groups in accomplishing their goals. During this reporting period, the TTAC team hosted and facilitated 40 monthly conference calls with the various PMIX groups and 19 calls with the various RxCheck groups.

During the grantee's weekly COAP case conference meetings, they had a couple of reoccurring topics that sparked interest in what other COAP grantee sites are currently doing. The grantee requested information pertaining to completion criteria for other sites and best practices for when to deem a participant discharged, whether they have completed their goals or contact has been lost with the individual in the community.

The Fairfield County Overdose Response Team submitted a TTA to become a Peer Visit Site for those QRTs that are seeking a model in terms of collaboration and outreach.

Sheriff Karl Leonard from Chesterfield County Sheriff's Office to participate in the Bridges Session at the NSA Conference 2/10/2020. Session Description: Nearly one in five people entering local jails has an opioid use disorder (OUD), and the high prevalence of OUD in the jail population is especially concerning given the high rates of overdose post-release. Studies have estimated that formerly incarcerated people are significantly more likely to die of a drug overdose in the two weeks immediately post-release than are members of the general population.

Camden County Department of Corrections in NJ is beginning the process to have the local correctional facility (jail) become a licensed OTP to enhance the existing MAT program. Their TA, Bren Manaugh, from HMA, has shared a variety of resources to inform their team on best practices and approaches. Bren also suggested that it would be a valuable experience to do an on-site visit to the Cook County jail to learn first hand about their OTP program, including barriers, challenges, and strategies to overcome them.

The United States Attorney's Office is inviting law enforcement and community leaders from the City of Richmond and Henrico, Chesterfield, and Hanover Counties for a symposium to discuss the drug overdose problem facing our area and how they can better coordinate efforts among stakeholders in the law enforcement, first responder, prosecution, forensic, medical, recovery and treatment, education, prevention, and re-entry areas.

The grantee is planning, as part of Arnold Ventures Building Bridges initiative, to implement MAT in Ingham County jail and successfully transition inmates into the community. The grantee would like to visit a site to observe their MAT program.

Session Description: As of January 1, 2020, Medicare covers services provided by any of the 1,740 certified Opioid Treatment Programs (OTPs) across the United States.
