We are putting together a peer support program for our Officers and we need initial training to get started. Our officers are faced with stressful incidents and we need additional tools and resources to help them deal with problems and return to work. Our new policy incorporates group debriefings and individual counseling with mental health providers. We also have options and resources for religious counseling if the employee wishes. We would like to add the option of peer support, particularly when it involves a critical incident which involves lethal force.
