Dr. Chip Coldren conducted an informal site visit to Henderson SPI to discuss their new grant award and plans for project implementation.
Dr. Chip Coldren and JSS (Dr. Craig Uchida, and Ms. Shellie Solomon) are conducting TTA around collective efficacy for Brooklyn Park SPI related to project evaluation/analysis, collective efficacy operations, and collective efficacy training for officers and community members.
The research partner for East Palo Alto SPI requested input/assistance regarding the scope/framework of the project evaluation due to ongoing changes in leadership, which impacted project implementation and evaluation.
SPI team members James "CHIPS" Stewart and James R. "Chip" Coldren, Jr. and BJA representative Kate McNamee conducted a site visit with the Michigan State Police SPI.
CNA outreach to four new SPI sites and four supplemental sites (Henderson, Toledo, Portland, Miami, Boston, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and Lowell), including the matching of practitioner and research SMEs for new sites.
CNA coordinated and participated in multiple SPI site panels/roundtables at the American Society of Criminology annual conference on research and issues regarding body worn cameras, reducing gun violence through Smart Policing, overcoming challenges to changes in SPIs, and new findings from the Smart Policing Initiative.
CNA coordinated an SPI panel on being a smart police executives with chiefs from five SPI sites and support of an SPI/DDACTS booth with Shawnee PD and IADLEST at the 2014 International Association of Chiefs of Police Conference (IACP) in Orlando, FL.
