Connected with Shelly Moeller from NM to facilitate a meeting with Shelly, myself and Melissia Larson. Shelly wanted to discuss LEAD law enforcement training curriculums and ask for recommendations on conferences and events for folks implementing LEAD programs in NM to attend. RTI provided recommendations of conferences, and Melissia plans to connect Shelly with NC's LEAD program coordinator.
Michelle White introduced Nick Gill (KY COSSAP grantee) and Rachel Bingham (KY Courts) to discuss the pilot diversion programming that is being planned in 10 KY counties. Michelle will facilite the conversation on 10/4/22.
Met with point of contact for NJ DPLS and introduced myself, We went over general updates for the site. 95% through their subawarding process with applications due around Halloween. There will be a webinar for applicants who want to learn more about LEAD. They are in the midst of searcing for somone to coordinate the project but have someone temporarily assigned to help out until then. St. Claire's University is aiding with evalution, and they have monthly and quarterly meetings with stakeholders. Currently, they are just waiting for applications.
Met with Michigan and introduced myself as their site liaison as well as go over general updates for the project. Spoke with Matt Opsommer who explained that they are going through a bit of a staffing turn-around as Rebecca Egbart resigned as the project coordinator. They are currently holding interviews to take her spot. In terms of their subawarding process, all contracts have been sent to subrecipients. They have 3 large projects with major counties and few smaller projects with other counties- all of which are applying different implementation services.
During the last week in July, the RROE TTA teams (RTI, IIR, CDC, and BJA) hosted and moderated the final convening for all COSSAP Rural Response to the Opioid Epidemic sites. The convening was broadly based on the Sequential Intercept Model. The first day covered Intercepts 0, 1, and 2, as well as an open discussion session. The second day covered Intercepts 3, 4, and 5, and left time for a brief success/challenge/new partnership summary for each site.
8/26/22: Check-in call with Kentucky held 8/26/22. KY updated that all subawards have been processed and building partnerships with jails to support jail-based naloxone distribution is in progress. No TTA needs at this time.
