Held regularly scheduled check-in call with NM 01/09/2022. NM reported that they are working on qualitative site evaluation, for which Melissia Larson was able to provide feedback and advice. NM reported that one subgrantee has succesfully connected with law enforcement to kick-start their LEAD program, and another site is having issues with case manager turnover. All questions answered by Melissia or Bailee. NM would like to mee with MD to discuss LEAD trianings, which SL Bailee will organize.

This discussion-based webinar, facilitated by the National League of Cities, highlighted local innovations in municipal criminal justice programs from Charlotte, North Carolina; Minneapolis, Minnesota; and St. Louis, Missouri. Participants heard from local leaders about their successes and challenges in ensuring that race equity is embedded within comprehensive safety planning, violence interruption programs, and alternative/civilian response models.

IIR is recognized for recruiting and retaining the very best SMEs and instructors, ensuring an ongoing infusion of new talent, and employing an internal vetting process for all contractors. IIR will continue to identify, vet, and utilize new instructors, as needed, on an ongoing basis to ensure that relevant experience, diversity, and a range of expertise are available to the program. SMEs will be utilized to support curricula development, instructional efforts, and providing needed resources in support of this program.

During this reporting period, IIR hosted a webinar, titled “San Diego Elder Justice Task Force (EJTF): Combating Elder Scams with Local and Federal Collaboration” on October 27, 2022. This webinar was widely promoted and received 87 registrations and 72 attendees. It featured members of the EJTF, including the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The EJTF is an unprecedented collaboration of local and federal agencies, led by the FBI, the U.S. Attorney’s Office (USAO), the U.S.
