Austin's BCJI grant is due to end in September of 2016. The TA team held a visit with Austin to assess implementation ascertain what support would be needed in the area of partnership and sustainability. A recent report by the Austin research team showed a rise in the percentage of respondents saying the Rundberg community was a safe place to live from just 41% in 2014 to over 75% in 2015. This change in perception can be attributed to the work of the Austin BCJI and other community partners.

LISC sponsored the second session of SafeGrowth training in San Antonio (June 1 & 2). Training included representatives from the Baton Rouge, Kansas City and San Antonio sites.

The primary goals of the site visit were: 1) to assess the current status of the Madison BCJI program, 2) assess the progress of the research, use of the research, and integration of the research partner into the team, 3) assess the degree of integration of the Madison Police Department and 4) assess the strengths of the core advisory team members.

The College Park City-University Partnership, consisting of three municipalities and the University of Maryland, requested a Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) analysis of a popular bicycle/pedestrian trail. The Virginia Center for Policing Innovation (VCPI) was selected to fulfill the request and provided a complete CPTED analysis of the Rhode Island Avenue Trolley Trail in Spring 2017. VCPI delivered the report to the College Park City-University Partnership in June 2017, and presented the results in-person in College Park, Maryland in July 2017.

The Sandy City, Utah Police Department (PD) requested a multi-day, hands on training of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED). The Virginia Center for Policing Innovation (VCPI) was selected to fulfill the request and provided CPTED training to the Sandy City PD and other Sandy City personnel on June 28 - 29, 2017 in Sandy City, Utah.

The Chesterfield County/City of Colonial Heights Community Corrections Services requested technical assistance for mapping the residences of clients receiving public assistance and/or mental health services from the local government to ultimately improve efficiency in the delivery of such services. Stewart Bruce was selected to fulfill this request and provided onsite evaluation services of existing resources, met with agency personnel and other community stakeholders, and developed a comprehensive final report with recommendations for the initiative. Newark VRN requests CPTED training. This training was originally scheduled for January but was cancelled due to inclement weather. They would now like to reschedule this training.
