The Sandy City, Utah Police Department (PD) requested a multi-day, hands on training of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED). The Virginia Center for Policing Innovation (VCPI) was selected to fulfill the request and provided CPTED training to the Sandy City PD and other Sandy City personnel on June 28 - 29, 2017 in Sandy City, Utah.
The Sandy City Police Department is requesting the assistance of BJA NTTAC in providing a multi-day, hands on training of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED).
thin 2016 our Training Division has received multiple requests for this specific training from both law enforcement agencies as well as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. This is because we hosted a NCPC CPTED training 5-6 years ago.
Our city has implemented a ten year plan of building retail, commercial, and residential building which is currently in its first phase. Critical, hands on, CPTED training would be of enormous assistance to not only our city but other cities within our county. With this training we would be able to effectively recommend those suggestions that would build OUT future problems for years to come.
CPTED is a proven program which when implemented in our city will effectively reduce dysfunctional and criminal behavior.
