The Advanced Crime Prevention Course is a three-day course designed for those who work in the law enforcement and crime prevention arena. It provides a comprehensive approach to “opportunity reduction” based crime prevention. Participants will learn how to prepare, understand, and deliver information on advanced topics in crime prevention to their communities. They will learn about various developments and emerging trends in the crime prevention field and understand the types of crime prevention techniques available to address these issues.

CNA conducts quarterly interviews with VRN sites and develops a summary report for BJA on evaluation feedback/findings. Summaries include feedback on the training and technical assistance/resources the interviewee received or participated in for the following categories: Online or Print Resources, U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) Resources, Subject Matter Expert (SME) Assistance, and Peer-to-Peer Assistance.

CNA supports the VRN by conducting an outcome and process evaluation of VRN resource and TTA delivery. Beginning Dec 21, 2015, the CNA VRN evaluation team commenced evaluation work for the previous quarter under this grant (prior evaluation work was conducted under 2013-DG-BX-K022).

NCJA was asked by the Matt Perkins of the LISC Community Safety Initiative (Byrne Criminal Justice Innovation Program) to participate in a webinar for BJCI grantees to assist them with resources for sustainability. The webinar was designed to inform the programs about the SAA in every state and the policy and funding resources that are available through those offices. Carol Poole, NCJA Senior Policy Adviser and Bill Scollon, SAA in Tennessee, presented information and answered questions from participants.

August 31- Mr. Hood participated in a conference call with the Michigan State University Drug Market Initiative Team and Kristie Brackens of the USDOJ regarding the Camden DMI Training to be held later this year.

October 9 -Mr. Hood participated in a conference call with Heather Perez of the Michigan State University School of Criminal Justice and Kathy of the Delaware DOJ regarding a future the DMI Training to be held in Camden NJ.
