Evaluation of the pilot intervention's impact on recidivism and the integrity of the intervention's implementation as compared to the originally developed model.
Center staff will collected and analyze data to assess feasibility of implementation of the short intervention and the risk assessment in the community court context.
Prior to the implementation of the Matrix Model and CBT4CBT teleservices interventions in Montana, Center research staff issued a "pre-survey" via Survey Monkey to participants and service providers. 44 participants and 20 staff members responded to the survey. After the pilot phase was complete, two more research activities took place: a "post-survey," to which 11 participants and 4 providers responded, and a series of focus groups, in which Center staff spoke with court staff in Montana about their experience implementing the two interventions.
The research team has collected 1200 short screening tool responses from pretrial defendants in NYC. The data will be used to validate (confirm the predictive validity) of the short screening tool.
The Center's research department is conducting a two-site procedural justice study among individuals with justice system experience in Cleveland, OH and Newark, NJ. The first portion of this study includes a closed-ended survey that will be administered outside of criminal courthouses in the study locations. The second will be an open-ended survey among a select number of justice-involved participants.
Project staff visited agencies in Utah in an effort to conduct a case study of the Utah Department of Public Safety’s model, including its Cyber Crime Unit, FBI Task Force, and Operation Wellspring. This information will be developed into a technical assistance document, which will assist both state and local agencies who wish to improve their cyber crime fighting ability. In addition, the development, information (sections), and objectives of the LECC were discussed at every meeting.
The Flint VRN Site has requested an assessment of Flint Police Department’s (PD) evidence and property room policies and procedures and an evaluation of their property and evidence facilities.
