• During the January–June 2024 reporting period, IIR responded to 164 inquiries through the website’s “Contact Us” form, which is tracked through automated help desk software. These were routine requests including registration changes and assistance, printing certificates, and lost passwords. IIR also provided technical assistance for inquiries from agencies requesting assistance in understanding and implementing 28 CFR Part 23 requirements.

During the January–June 2024 reporting period, IIR continued to reference the
28 CFR Part 23 data dashboard to provide weekly updates to BJA, sharing number of users, certificates earned, and training completions by state in real time.

The current online training effort, managed by IIR, focuses on the core principles associated with the requirements of 28 CFR Part 23 and promotes an understanding of P/CRCL concerns related to CII sharing. This online training facilitates criminal intelligence system compliance by training a larger number of individuals than is feasible in a classroom setting alone. The training is modular in design and allows students to complete modules at their own pace for a more comprehensive understanding of the regulation.

During the October–December 2023 reporting period, IIR responded to 60 inquiries submitted through the website’s “Contact Us” form. These were routine requests, including registration changes and assistance, printing certificates, and lost passwords. IIR also provided technical assistance for inquiries from agencies requesting assistance in understanding and implementing 28 CFR Part 23 requirements. Between October 1 and December 31, 2023, no requests for technical assistance, desk reviews, or clarification of the regulation were received.

On May 23, 2024, Center staff Kelly Van Develde in collaboration with researchers John Gallagher, Steven Belenko, Deborah Koetzle, Juliette Mackin, and Kristen DeVall traveled to Anaheim, California, to present at the RISE24 Annual Training Conference. Their presentation titled “Strengthening the Foundation: New Research in the Field” introduced four research studies that are currently in the field examining understudied areas of the treatment court model.
