Center staff are working with states in furtherance of the Veterans Treatment Court Strategic Planning Initiative. The goals of this initiative are to encourage the strengthening of VTC adherence to best practice standards, to increase readiness for states and local jurisdictions to apply for federal funding to support their programs, the successful replication of the VTC model, and the application of VTC principles to wider populations. Center staff will complete individual interviews of stakeholders and any follow-up focus groups, as needed.

The Center for Court Innovation will lead a two-year national research project explicitly designed to bring together leading subject matter experts, drug court researchers, and drug court practitioners in order to strengthen the theoretical and measurement foundation of drug court research and seed a new generation of rigorous evaluation.

Justice Counts attended Indiana statewide Pretrial Working Group to get a better understanding of the landscape related to that metric section. Meeting was facilitated by Mark Spitzer (Judge, Grant County) and attended by superior and circuit court judges, a representative of the Indiana State Police, and the Indiana Public Defenders Office.
