The Bureau of Justice Assistance requested travel support for three individuals to attend the WCPI National Tribal Law Enforcement Executive Symposium. BJA NTTAC provided travel support for two of the three individuals to attend the symposium from May 10 – 11, 2017 in Warm Springs, Oregon.

The Ferguson, Missouri Police Department (PD) requested travel support for two Ferguson PD officers to travel to and participate in the Kansas City, Missouri PD Blue Courage Academy. BJA NTTAC provided travel support for the two officers to attend the academy on June 6 - 9, 2017 in Kansas City, Missouri.

La Crosse County, Wisconsin requested specialized training to promote evidence-based practices gleaned from its participation in the National Institute of Corrections (NIC) Evidence Based Decision Making Phase VI program to local corrections practitioners. La Crosse identified the Carey Group as a potential train-the-trainer provider for approximately ten personnel. BJA NTTAC is currently working with the Carey Group to determine whether it can fulfill this request, which will be transferred to the Option Year 1 (OY1) contract.

The University of Chicago Crime Lab requested travel support for participants to travel to and attend the Early Intervention System (EIS) National Advisory Committee (NAC) meeting. BJA NTTAC provided travel support for 21 participants to attend the EIS NAC meeting on April 27 - 28, 2017 in Chicago, Illinois.

The Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) requested travel support for one individual to attend the 2017 International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Annual Technology Conference . BJA NTTAC provided travel support for one individual from the Lancaster, Pennsylvania Police Department to attend the event on May 22-24, 2017 in St. Louis, Missouri.

The Jackson (MS) Violence Reduction Network (VRN) site requested support to host a homicide investigations management training. The Institute for Intergovernmental Research (IIR) was selected to fulfill the training request and delivered a three-day course with a team of four subject matter experts to 36 participants representing the Jackson Police Department and other regional agencies on May 1 - 3, 2017 in Jackson, Mississippi.

The West Bend, Wisconsin Police Department (PD), in conjunction with the Green Bay, Wisconsin PD, requested 7 Habits of Highly Successful People for Law Enforcement training for up to 80 officers. The Carolinas Institute for Community Policing requested funding support to provide 75 participant kits to the West Bend PD and Green Bay PD for the three-day training on March 14 - 16, 2017 and May 17 - 19, 2017, respectively.

The Genesee County, Michigan Prosecutor’s Office, as part of the Flint, Michigan Violence Reduction Network site, requested funding for one traveler to attend the National District Attorneys Association Career Prosecutor Course in New Orleans, Louisiana, on May 15 – 25, 2017. The Genesee County Prosecutor’s Office did not receive internal approval for the training and withdrew the request. BJA NTTAC closed the request on April 25, 2017.

The Flint, Michigan Police Department, as part of the Flint Violence Reduction Network (VRN) site, requested support to send two detectives to Glynco, Georgia to attend an internal affairs investigation training. The detectives were unable to enroll in the training. BJA NTTAC closed the request on July 27, 2017.

The West Memphis, Arkansas Police Department (PD), as part of the West Memphis Violence Reduction Network (VRN) site, requested homicide investigation management training. The Institute for Intergovernmental Research was selected to fulfill the request and provided the Homicide Investigation Management Training to West Memphis PD and other local law enforcement agencies from June 26 – 29, 2017 in West Memphis, Arkansas.
