The Nashville Metropolitan Police Department (MNPD), as part of the Nashville Public Safety Partnership (PSP) site, requested technical assistance under the BJA NTTAC Crime Analysis on Demand (CAoD) program to improve existing programming and reduce the prevalence of violent crime. MNPD identified Julie Wartell as a potential technical assistance provider. BJA NTTAC is currently working with Ms. Wartell to determine whether she can effectively fulfill this request, which will be transferred to the Option Year 1 (OY1) contract.

South Texas College requested technical assistance to facilitate a planning meeting for a regional public safety training center. Pamela Cammarata was selected to fulfill the request, and facilitated the planning meeting on August 28-31, 2018. Ms. Cammarata will deliver a final report to South Texas College in September 2018.

The goal of the staffing study is to assist the Little Rock PD by analyzing aspects of its management and operations, with a focus on staffing levels and personnel deployments.

The Baltimore, Maryland Police Department (PD) requested an assessment of its crime-fighting strategies and tactics. Strategic Focus, LLC President, Dr. Malinowski, and his team of subject matter experts were selected as the providers.

The Bureau of Justice Assistance requested that Terrance Gainer facilitate a breakout session at the National Summit on Crime Reduction and Public Safety. Chief Gainer facilitated a breakout session on “The Role of Community Input in Violence Reduction” on June 21, 2017 in Bethesda, Maryland.

The Bureau of Justice Assistance requested that Kenneth Novak prepare and deliver a presentation at the National Summit on Crime Reduction and Public Safety. Dr. Novak delivered a presentation on social network analysis on June 21, 2017 in Bethesda, Maryland.

The Flint, Michigan Police Department (PD), as part of the Flint Violence Reduction Network (VRN) site, requested a comprehensive assessment of gang issues in the city of Flint. Dr. Charles Katz and Dr. Andrew Fox were selected as providers to fulfill this request. During Phase II of this engagement, the providers conducted a working group session with 10 - 20 gang experts from Flint PD and across the city of Flint. The providers developed a gang database and gang member information card, and conducted a social network analysis.
