The Ferguson, Missouri Police Department (PD) requested dialogue sessions with all Ferguson PD personnel and two Blue Courage: The Heart and Mind of the Guardian training courses. Blue Courage, Inc. was selected to fulfill the request and delivered the dialogue sessions on June 22 - 23, 2017 and the two two-day trainings to 28 Ferguson PD personnel on June 26 - 27, 2017 and June 28 - 29, 2017 in Ferguson, Missouri.

The Chesterfield County/City of Colonial Heights Community Corrections Services requested technical assistance for mapping the residences of clients receiving public assistance and/or mental health services from the local government to ultimately improve efficiency in the delivery of such services. Stewart Bruce was selected to fulfill this request and provided onsite evaluation services of existing resources, met with agency personnel and other community stakeholders, and developed a comprehensive final report with recommendations for the initiative. Erie County is requesting the assistance of BJA NTTAC in mapping the Erie County reentry system using a sequential intercept model. We are further requesting assistance with planning and implementing recommended changes that derive from the mapping.

In May 2013, the Bureau of Justice (BJA), in partnership with the CNA Corporation, developed Managing Large-Scale Security Events: A Planning Primer for Local Law Enforcement Agencies (Planning Primer) to help guide local governments as they prepare for large-scale security events. BJA requested assistance in updating the Planning Primer based on the planning of the 2016 Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio on July 18 - 21, 2016 and the 2016 Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on July 25 - 28, 2016.

The St. Louis, Missouri Violence Reduction Network (VRN) site requested a Blue Courage: Heart and Mind of the Guardian course as well as a Blue Courage Academy. Blue Courage, Inc. delivered a two-day Blue Courage course to 18 members of the St. Louis Metro Police Department from October 6 - 7, 2016 in St. Louis, Missouri. Blue Courage, Inc. also delivered a four-day Blue Courage Academy to 19 officers from the St. Louis Metro Police Department and three other local agencies from October 24-27, 2016 in St. Louis, Missouri.

The Tennessee Administrative Office of the Courts (TAOC) requested technical assistance in drafting a comprehensive report of recommendations and education for state legislators on best practices for indigent legal representation services. The Sixth Amendment Center was selected to fulfill the request and delivered the final comprehensive report to the TAOC in April 2017. The Sixth Amendment Center continued to provide support to TAOC through August 30, 2017.

Nebraska was a Blue Courage pilot site for implementing Blue Courage principles in the basic police academy in 2015. All four Nebraska academies participated and is a part of basic training. We have now been moved to a "full-immersion state" and are requesting an additional Blue Courage train-the-trainer to include law enforcement agencies without a police academy to complete the Nebraska full immersion project. We anticipate having the next training on the eastern side of the state, sometime in the spring of 2017.

The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services is requesting training in investigating and clearing non-fatal shooting incidents. One of the New York State project sites, Newburgh, NY in Orange County has very high rates of gun violence and an extremely low clearance rate for non-fatal shooting incidents. This is influenced by a variety of factors, including witness co-operation, investigative diligence, low prosecution rates, and community distrust.
