Update: In May, CSG Justice Center staff continued to facilitate conversations on the proposed funding formula, including providing information on the formula to legislators and Minnesota Management and Budget staff.

Update: In April, CSG Justice Center staff continued to facilitate conversations with key stakeholders to build consensus on the new funding model developed through the state’s JRI process included in the House public safety policy and budget omnibus bill, HF 4608.

Update: In January, CSG Justice Center staff began workshopping policy recommendations with the Delivery System Standards and Funding Policy Working Group, including alternative funding models. Ultimately, CSG Justice Center staff, with support from the working group, proposed the following policy recommendation that addresses analysis area 1:

• 8/5: Call with Director of Government and External Relations (MN DOC), Tribal Liaison (MN DOC), Communications Director (Office of the Governor), Policy Advisor (Office of the Governor), and Director of Boards and Commissions to plan launch activities for the Justice Reinvestment project.
• 8/12: Call with Policy Analyst (Association of Minnesota Counties) to discuss the project’s status and launch activities.
• 8/19: Virtual monthly call with Delivery System Standards and Funding working group.
