The first working group session was held on Thursday, February 25th, 2021. This session, led by Dr. Alexander Cowell, provided information on cost analysis, cost-benefit analysis, and cost-effectiveness analysis.

In this webinar, attendees received guidance on assessing cultural responsiveness within reentry programs through research and evaluation activities. The presenters highlighted data-driven strategies for improving cultural responsiveness in reentry programs, as well as strategies to enhance cultural competence.

On June 14, Vera and Burlington Housing authority (BHA) convened a small gathering of service providers to map out the best process for providers to use when referring people to BHA housing. Stakeholders shared outcomes of other tactics, pathways for referral, and use of the new policies.

To achieve positive outcomes, peer recovery support services (PRSS) to address opioid and other substance use are increasingly offered across diverse criminal justice settings, including within treatment and recovery court programs. This session:
Described diverse treatment and recovery court programs and how they integrate peer specialists 
Identified changes to organizational practices and procedures necessary for the successful integration of peer work 
Discussed training for peer specialists and departmental staff to prepare for peer services
