The PRC will facilitate 5 presentations on PREA-related topics at the 2015 ACA Winter Conference in Long Beach, CA. The topics include: PREA Risk Screening & Use of Screening Information; PREA and LGBTI Populations in Confinement; A Survivor's Story; PREA Success Stories; and Prosecutors and PREA.
Conference call with the Transgender Legal Services coalition to discuss PREA and specific provisions for transgender people.
Investigations-focused presentation at the Corrections USA conference.
LA County DMH requests a four-hour training program to meet the requirement for specialized training for medical and mental health providers. The training will be provided four times, in order to reach at least 120 DMH employees, with the possibility of an additional 100 medical staff attending (yet to be confirmed). The training will feature JDI's Deputy Executive Director, Linda McFarlane, MSW, LCSW, and Senior Program Consultant Robert Dumond, MA, LCMHC, CCMHC.
