BJA NTTAC will be supporting 12 travelers from the St Louis (MO), Wilmington (DE), Oakland/Richmond (CA), Flint (MI), West Memphis (AR) VRN sites to attend a five-day training course hosted at the Naval Postgraduate School’s Common Operational Research Environment (CORE) Lab.

The Chicago Police Department (PD), as part of the Chicago Violence Reduction Network (VRN) Site, is requesting assistance for a comprehensive community immersion program to rebuild trust between the community and law enforcement. The Chicago PD has requested the Policing at the Speed of Trust and Leading at the Speed of Trust hybrid train-the-trainer course to develop 13 law enforcement officers and 13 community members as training facilitators. These 26 facilitators, with assistance from FranklinCovey, will then train 100 law enforcement officers and 100 community members.

The purpose of this request is two-fold: 1) to develop geospatial data layers for the city limits of West Memphis in order to support more accurate location-based data entry and information capture, 2) identify the process and/or system to capture WMPD fleet GPS data within the dispatch/recording systems in order to ensure accurate location of responses.

St. Louis VRN Site Blue Courage Academy Invitational Travel: BJA NTTAC funded two travelers to attend the Kansas City Blue Courage Academy, which consisted of a Blue Courage course and a train the trainer course.

The Little Rock (AR) VRN site has requested training in Project Safe Neighborhoods and Drug Market Intervention. The training is tentatively scheduled for early August.
