Maintenance and delivery of Child Sex Trafficking: A Training Series for Frontline Officers, an online training for law enforcement that was developed under a grant that ended in 2015. This project is continuing to offer the training to the BJA task forces and other law enforcement working on human trafficking.

The PRC hosted Part III of this webinar series in collaboration with the International Association of Forensic Nurses.

Sexual abuse is a problem in correctional environments with life-altering consequences. This webinar was designed to assist correctional professionals as well as Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners and Sexual Assault Forensic Examiners (SANE/SAFE) providers who serve adult and juvenile confinement facilities.

This knowledge is critical for all confinement staff to ensure sexual safety for inmates and staff. The workshop will address: What is meant by "The Dynamics of Sexual Abuse and Sexual Harassment in Confinement?"

This workshop will allow staff assigned PREA related duties from all confinement types that have undergone an initial DOJ PREA certification audit an opportunity to discuss tips for sustaining PREA compliance on an ongoing basis through the use of internal inspection teams. Former and current PREA Coordinators will facilitate the discussion highlighting the pros and cons of implementing internal inspection teams, tips for selecting internal inspection team members and various ways to document inspection results and develop corrective action plans.

The PREA Standards require that an agency provides specific training to all employees that have contact with inmates, residents, and detainees. During this session attendees will gain insight into what training is required to maintain PREA compliance and what current resources are available via the National PREA Resource Center and its partners to meet or expand your PREA compliance.

NDCRC will disseminate surveys to local coordinators in states where they are primarily responsible for maintaining records, i.e. no statewide reporting system exists. These surveys address the structure (e.g., funding, personnel, partnerships), operation (e.g., services offered, eligibility, decision making), and successes and challenges (e.g., adherence to or deviance from best practices; racial, ethnic, and gender disparity or equity).

NDCRC staff fielded inquiries related to research and practice in the field as well as NDCRC updates. These questions were received primarily via the NDCRC email, individual staff emails, and the contact page of the NDCRC website. Between January 1 and June 30, 2020, staff addressed 513 questions about the NDCRC, treatment courts, or other resources.

The National PREA Resource Center (PRC) provided an Auditor Refresher Training at the American Corrections Association (ACA) on January 11, 2020 (located in San Diego, CA). Multiple divisions within the PRC collaborated to provide the training (i.e. Training and Technical Assistance, Audit Quality and Integrity, and Field Training Program). The training focused on PREA audit report writing as outlined in the Auditor Handbook and to meet the expectations of the Department of Justice (DOJ) and PREA Management Office (PMO).
