This webinar will explore the challenges individuals face when re-entering their communities after time in jail, prison, or even residential treatment. The basics of good re-entry programs will be discussed. In addition, faculty will describe how traditional cultural practices can be used to hope community members rebuild trust and reintegrate.

The Colorado Department of Public Safety is locally validating the CARAS risk instrument used by the parole board. The PSRAC team is providing assistance on best practices for validation to aid their efforts and will complete a review of their final validation model(s). This will involve reviewing their documentation and performance measures, as well as writing a report to outline the strengths and any areas for improvement or future consideration.

Maintenance and delivery of Child Sex Trafficking: A Training Series for Frontline Officers, an online training for law enforcement that was developed under a grant that ended in 2015. This project is continuing to offer the training to the BJA task forces and other law enforcement working on human trafficking.

In September 2018, the lead instructor of the training program delivered a demonstration training to project staff, BJA staff, and approximately 11 officers from local law enforcement agencies. Local law enforcement agencies include: Alexandria, VA, Police Department; Arlington County, VA, Police Department; Falls Church, VA, Police Department; and the Prince William County, VA, Police Department. IACP staff and BJA staff were also in attendance.

The Audit Quality and Integrity (AQI) Division completed a variety of tasks that have integrated the AQI Division with the Field Training Program (FTP) with a goal of providing a more robust and inclusive training experience for Auditor Trainee Candidates.

Funded by a PRC Minigrant, the Victim Rights Law Center convened two focus groups of community-based advocates to gather input, educate advocates, and increase awareness about how to best implement PREA standards establishing incarcerated survivors' right to access support services "in as confidential a manner as possible." Focus group findings will inform technical assistance and training on incarcerated survivors' privacy protections.

The New York City Police Department Special Projects requested information on implicit bias training for personnel and assess training presentations. BJA NTTAC provided various resources for law enforcement personnel related to training in the event of an administered assessment. We included information regarding FLETC and IADLEST.
