In September, CSG Justice Center staff provided guidance to the Pennsylvania state agencies collaborating to develop an online, publicly available JRI Data Dashboard. Once completed, the JRI Data Dashboard will visualize key trends related to the impacts of justice reinvestment to date, and progress toward the state’s justice reinvestment goals. The JRI Data Dashboard is funded through Phase II capacity-building funds.
CSG Justice Center staff also learned this month that the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole (PBPP) will have a new Chair. Agency leaders report that the Chairman is slated to retire from the Parole Board at the end of 2015. State leaders continue discussions regarding the proposed merger of PBPP and the Department of Corrections (DOC). The former acting Board Chair had not been supportive of the merger plans. He will remain a member of the Parole Board.
