1. Analysis for a new approach to criminal history records – Simplified Segmented Tracking
2. Analysis and Documentation of Lessons Learned for our XML Testing with ADRS (Also includes getting Maricopa and Pima Counties transmitting through ADRS).
3. Automate transmission of ADRS rejects to NICS (those offenses that qualify under NICS but our ACCH has rejected). JAN-JUNE 2016 PROGRESS UPDATE: SEARCH received quarterly firearm project evaluation data on 1/27/16 and 5/4/16. These materials informed the status updates submitted to BJA. SEARCH staff also confirmed a site visit date for 7/27/16 during this reporting period. The purpose of the site visit is to review project progress, identify potential challenges, identify technical assistance opportunities, and reassess evaluation metrics.

SEARCH staff traveled to Phoenix, AZ and met with representatives from the Arizona Criminal Justice Commission, Department of Public Safety, and Administrative Office of the Courts to confirm the Firearm Background Check Improvement Project's goals and objectives and performance metrics plan. SEARCH staff also provided research and findings regarding a question about how other states handle fail to appear warranty and if they are linked to a criminal history record via fingerprints when executed.
This information was included in order to provide a complete history of this TTA, and was included in the TTARS entries for that reporting period.
During this reporting period, SEARCH staff maintained regular contact with the state point of contact to ensure the project goals and objectives aligned with the project plans. SEARCH staff also monitored the quarterly reporting of performance and evaluation data according to the metrics identified at the initiation of the state project. Finally, SEARCH staff assisted in the transition to a new point of contact for the Arizona initiative and provided informal technical assistance in response to questions regarding best practices for warrant and disposition reporting among peer states.
JULY-DECEMBER 2015 PROGRESS UPDATE:During this reporting period, SEARCH staff monitored the quarterly reports provided from by the grantee and sought opportunities for technical assistance, which were declined by the grantee. SEARCH also informed the grant monitor of the likely need for a grant extension considering the remaining balance and dependency of Arizona disposition reporting process delays.

SEARCH and NCSC completed a site visit to review the progress of grant activities and objectives on July 27, 2016. SEARCH staff confirmed Arizona stakeholders successfully completed four of their six grant objectives; including passing legislation to allow law enforcement access to prohibited possessor records, the technical means to access prohibited possessor records, e-Warrants automation proof of concept, and mental health record reporting to the NICS Index. AZ has submitted over 20,000 mental health related records as of December 2016.
SEARCH staff continue to maintain contact and monitor project activities and receive quarterly progress reports from the state grantees. SEARCH has not received any further technical assistance requests from project stakeholders.

SEARCH staff was informed that Arizona submitted a grant extension in order to complete their remaining felony disposition reporting development activities. The request was not granted, and SEARCH will complete the final project evaluation in the next reporting period.
