This project will focus on providing training and technical assistance to Coordinated Tribal Assistance Solicitation (CTAS) Purpose Area (PA) #3 grantees and non-grantee federally recognized tribes, to further develop and enhance tribal justice systems. Activities include providing onsite visits and regional trainings to PA #3 grantees on tribal justice system focused topics and providing training and technical assistance to non-grantees, including Special Tribal Criminal Jurisdiction under the Violence Against Women Act of 2022 and intergovernmental collaboration. In addition, TLPI will provide webinars and virtual training events, develop resources and tools for the field, update and maintain the www.WalkingOnCommonGround.org and https://tribaljustice.org/ websites, coordinate the annual American Indian Justice Conference, and collaborate with other training and technical assistance partners to bring the culturally specific, cost effective and content rich services to the field. TLPI will work with tribal grantees and non-grantees to develop and enhance strong, culturally relevant, and informed justice systems and responses and enhance collaborations and intergovernmental agreements with federal, state, and local partners to address crime.
