During our monthly check-in call we discussed partially tested kits, phased inventory plan, and status of the state's MDT. I also reminded them to keep the dates for the grantee meeting blocked on their calendars and to send me any activities they plan to be involved in for SAAM in April.
During this monthly check in we discussed PMT questions, how the inventory process was going, site visit, and the grantees meeting. They let me know that September would be the best time for a site visit and that they would like law enforcement and victim advocacy training.
During our monthly check in call, Mickey updated me on the inventory process. They inventoried 250 kits in April. Their next MDT meeting is in June after the grantee's meeting During this MDT meeting, they will have representatives from the Columbia, MO PD come and discuss their victim notification procedures. Mickey also let me know that they are in the process of preparing a request for outsourcing DNA testing and will submit that to the state of Missouri's procurement department soon.
send Mickey resources for how to facilitate relationships with hospitals and get them on board for the inventory process.
Met with the Missouri Site Coordinator, Mickey Williams, during the SAKI grantee's meeting. We discussed the standing monthly check in items including the inventorying process and their statewide working group. She expressed that both of those topics were progressing well, and that her only concern at the moment was getting a few hospitals on board of the inventory process. A few hospitals in Missouri have expressed concern about completing the inventory form because they don't want to commit any HIPPA violations. I let her know that i would ask other site liaisons if other SAKI sites have experienced similar issues with inventorying hospitals.
No other site liaison had any advice from other SAKI sites, so i let Mickey know that she should try to leverage her contacts at other hospitals who are on board with inventorying the kits to have a conversation with those who are not on board.
