CSG JC staff presented IRES implementation progress to various stakeholders and facilitated discussions regarding recommendations to refine referral process for pre-release and post-release programming, and building the capacity of community-based workforce agencies to meet the needs of people returning from WI DOC. CSG staff also co-hosted NIC's Employment Retention Principles and Practices training offered to WI DCC, WIBs, and community-based workforce providers.

CSG Justice Center staff met with the Nevada Recidivism Reduction Implementation Team and their contracted research partners. During the site visit, team members provided an overview of their scope of work and reported on the overall progress of their project and the projected timeline NDOC and research partners also presented preliminary plans for collecting data to track process and outcomes of the target population for the grant.

The Idaho Commission of Pardons and Parole (COPP) requested technical assistance for a third-party, independent assessment of a series of critical incidents involving felony probationers and/or parolees to determine whether policy changes are warranted. Police Foundation was selected to fulfill the request through the competitive RFP process in July 2017. The period of performance for this technical assistance engagement will begin on September 1, 2017.

CSG Justice Center staff coordinated and facilitated a peer-to-peer site visit between Vermont Department of Corrections and Georgia Department of Community Supervision with the goal of providing a comprehensive overview of Vermont Department of Corrections’ SCA-funded Circles of Support and Accountability project, for adoption into Georgia Department of Community Supervision’s Statewide Recidivism Reduction grant. During the site visit, meetings focused on:

National Reentry Resource Center (NRRC) staff and Ada Pecos Melton from American Indian Development Associates (AIDA) facilitated conversations about program goals for the CSKT team. On the first day of the site visit, NRRC staff and Ms. Melton facilitated discussions about target population, collecting data from tribal and state sources, and engagement of tribal partners. NRRC staff and Ms. Melton participated in a tour of the tribal jail and discussed the FRRP?s screening and assessment process with the team.
