On June 17, 2015 Justine Olderman, Managing Director of the Criminal Defense Practice at The Bronx Defenders gave testimony to the City Council of New York City. Part of the testimony focused on bail funds, which are a part of the holistic services that The Bronx Defenders provide. When clients are bailed out using the Freedom Fund bail fund affiliated with The Bronx Defenders, clients are able to access all of services, which increases their likelihood of returning to court. 2015 Arizona Problem Solving Courts Conference: Advancing Justice
Together where national and statewide experts are on hand to present critical information,
share lessons learned, and engage in dialogue about a variety of topics.

This conference provides technical assistance and support to chief public defenders and new public defenders. The Institute is the foundation of the Gideon's Promise model. It is the catalyst to improving public defense. The fourteen-day program is facilitated by the best public defender trainers in the country.
The Trainer Development Conference convenes public defender trainers, supervisors and law clinicians to learn the Gideon's Promise indigent defense model which will help improve the criminal justice system. To further help drive office-wide transformation, partner-offices are encouraged to send their management team to the Trainer Development Program (TDP).
Emily LaGratta served on a paper session called “Innovations and Setbacks in Courts and Trials,” in which experts in the field read and present on three recently published pieces of literature on various topics.
Warren Reich and Sarah Fritsche presented “Complex Criminogenic Needs Predict Six-Month Recidivism in Misdemeanants,” an analysis of the Misdemeanor Assessment Project data, to an audience of researchers at the annual convention of the Association for Psychological Science, New York, NY.

In the state of Texas, the Office of the Governor is the SAA. The SAA works collaboratively with the Texas Association of Regional Councils (TARC), made up of the regional planning staff for the 24 Texas regions, to do statewide criminal justice planning. On April 22, 2015, NCJA received a request to present onsite training at the regional planners’ annual meeting in late September, 2015. The criminal justice planners are interested in onsite presentations and training by NCJA staff on both grants management and strategic planning.
Mentor Courts serve as models for individuals and court teams interested in starting an Adult Drug Court or for established courts interested in learning innovative practices.
