The Wisconsin Department of Justice is working with the United States Attorney's Offices in the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin and about ten other local and state partners to sponsor an Opioid and Meth Summit in Milwaukee on October 23 and 24. The theme of the conference is coalition building--making progress through collaboration. TASC conducted a presentation on pre-arrest diversion programs.

The National Association of State Controlled Substances Authorities (NASCSA) convened their 34th annual conference in Scottsdale, Arizona on October 30 through November 2. In attendance were representatives from 41 states as well as industry representatives. Patrick Knue, Director of the PDMP Training and Technical Assistance Center, was asked to share a presentation on the Best Practices for Prescription Drug Monitoring Programs.

The purpose of this meeting, which was hosted by the National Governors Association, was to discuss the current state and local opioid landscape, national trends, and innovative programs. The session also highlighted potential opportunities for scaling local models and leveraging coordination across state/local public safety and public health entities.

The fifth North PDMP Region meeting was held in Madison, WI on October 16-17, 2018. The meeting was hosted and facilitated by the PDMP Training and Technical Assistance Center (TTAC) with support from the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), Institute for Intergovernmental Research (IIR), and Brandeis University. PDMP Administrators and their staff in the 12 North Region states were invited to attend with 10 PDMPs (IL, IA, KS, MI, MN, MO, NE, OH, SD, WI) represented at the meeting.
