Conduct a one-day meeting with LA County Sheriff’s Department staff to develop a plan of action for the implementation of gender-responsive programming at Century Regional Detention Facility. This will include review and discussion of specific recommendations resulting from technical assistance previously provided by the National Institute of Corrections and the National Resource Center on Justice-Involved Women.

This webinar highlights key recommendations from the white paper, Core Principles for Reducing Recidivism and Improving Other Outcomes for Youth in the Juvenile Justice System. Participants learn about the four principles that must undergird any strategy to reduce recidivism and improve outcomes for youth in the juvenile justice system. Participants also learn how to implement the principles effectively, and hear about how some state and local juvenile justice systems have operationalized the principles in practice.

In partnership with the Pew Charitable Trusts, the Council of State Governments' Justice Center, and the Bureau of Justice Assistance, Urban planned and implemented the Justice Reinvestment National Summit. Urban worked with its partners to develop the agenda by planning conference sessions and speakers. Two Urban senior researchers moderated panels. Urban also coordinated travel for 19 speakers and attendees.
