The Nashville Metropolitan Police Department (MNPD), as part of the Nashville Public Safety Partnership (PSP) site, requested technical assistance under the BJA NTTAC Crime Analysis on Demand (CAoD) program to improve existing programming and reduce the prevalence of violent crime. MNPD identified Julie Wartell as a potential technical assistance provider. BJA NTTAC is currently working with Ms. Wartell to determine whether she can effectively fulfill this request, which will be transferred to the Option Year 1 (OY1) contract.

Per our grant, the National Govenors Association leads monthly conference with criminal justice policy advisors (CJPAs) on policy challenges, emerging state issues, and best practices. Calls have taken place the 4th Thursday of every month beginning in July, 2016 and average 10 – 25 callers on each call.

State Agency Administrators (SAA) and Governors’ Criminal Justice Policy Advisors (CJPAs) joined together in Charleston, South Carolina in December 2017 for the Institute for State Criminal Justice and Public Safety Executives, hosted by NCJA and the National Governor’s Association (NGA). Representatives from 38 states and territories registered for the event which featured a robust agenda of high priority topics, networking opportunities and discussions.

NCJA will be streaming the 2017 National Forum osession Data: What It is, Why You Need It and What in the World to Do With It live on NCJA's Facebook page on August 1. This session is geared for novices who want to understand how to figure out what data is available, how to get it and how to use what you have when making decisions.
