Kelly Stoner presented on the webinar designed to explore CTAS Funding for Implementing VAWA Special Domestic Violence Criminal Jurisdiction: FY 2017 , and how several of these purpose areas can be used. There is some federal funding available to assist in this implementation.This webinar is offered as part of the resources of the Inter-Tribal Working Group.

Kelly Stoner presented on the webinar designed to explore the Office on Violence Against Women- FY 2017 Grants to Tribal Governments to Exercise Special Domestic Violence Criminal Jurisdiction, and how several of these purpose areas can be used. There is some federal funding available to assist in this implementation, including funding for tribal courts, for law enforcement, and for victims services.This webinar is offered as part of the resources of the Inter-Tribal Working Group.

TLPI works in conjunction with the National Congress of American Indians to host monthly calls with the tribes who have implemented VAWA Special Domestic Violence Criminal Jurisdiction. The calls provide a forum for tribes to discuss any concerns, problems, and/or questions regarding their exercise of Special Domestic Violence Criminal Jurisdiction. Tribes also provide suggestions for future TTA.

TLPI participates in monthly VAWA ITWG Defense Counsel calls with the National Congress of American Indians. These calls focus on providing TA to the defense counsel/attorneys for tribes that have implemented VAWA 2013 Special Domestic Violence Criminal Jurisdiction.

These calls focus on TTA delivery and a review of the tribes that are implementing VAWA 2013 Special Domestic Violence Criminal Jurisdiction.

Chia Halpern attended the NCAI pre meeting: VAWA Task Force to provide information on TLPI resources and TA available. Chia shared the TLOA Enhanced Sentencing/VAWA SDVCJ implementing tribes chart with the group and discussed the upcoming VAWA Intertribal Working Group meeting.
