The conference is open to spouses, life partners, parents, adult children, and siblings of fallen firefighters honored at the National Memorial in Emmitsburg, Maryland.
The conference will address the changes that have challenged family members through their loss and provide strategies to help them optimize health and build resilience. They will learn about navigating milestones, managing stress, mindfulness, and self-care.

The National PREA Grantee Convening brought together Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) grant recipients, PREA Targeted Implementation Planning and Support (TIPS) Program grant recipients, and subject matter experts to share ideas and lessons learned during PREA implementation projects. Peer grantees came from an array of facility types and sizes from all across the country and from various stages in their PREA implementation journey. The Convening included virtual plenary presentations, engaging workshops, and networking opportunities.

The IACP hosted a virtual Kevin and Avonte All Grantee Meeting. It was two half-days and consisted of FY21 site presentations, three panels (Public Education Campaign, Lived Experiences, Program Sustainability), and network breakout rooms. IACP also met with the grantee meeting panelists (Ascendigo Autism Services, Minot State University, National Autism Association, Pathfinders for Autism, Harris County Sheriff's Office, LA Found, and Alzheimer's LA) and moderators before the meeting to discuss presentations, timings, the agenda, and the prepared questions.

National Sheriffs' Association Annual Conference

The NSA Annual Conference is one of the largest of its kind and displays products and equipment relevant to every facet of police work, jails, prisoner transport, and courtroom security. Exhibitors, therefore, contribute in large measure to the overall success of the conference. There are also numerous seminars and workshops covering all aspects of the duties and responsibilities for sheriffs’ offices, including, but not limited to, law enforcement, jail operations, service of process, transportation of prisoners, and court & judicial security.

This workshop will present innovative initiatives in prisons and jails which are increasing the effectiveness of wellness programs for their staff. Don’t miss out on learning how correctional associations, external government agencies and universities can assist corrections to improve staff wellness and a sustainable staff workforce.

1. Participants will be able to explain how staff wellness programs support a sustainable workforce and improve recruitment and retention efforts.

The second Institute on Restorative Reintegration was a public-facing event and took place on June 11, 2022 in San Diego, CA. It was both an in-person and live-streamed event and featured seven speakers with lived experiences of reintegration sharing their stories in TedX-style talks. This event promoted restorative approaches to reintegration while elevating the voices and expertise of those with lived experience of incarceration and reentry.

The NCORJ held a Restorative Justice Institute on the topic of Restorative Reintegration on February 10-11, 2022. This "think tank" involved 25 participants, including academics and practitioners with expertise in restorative justice approaches to reentry after incarceration. Program descriptions were provided by participating practitioners.
