On May 20, 2022, the Center hosted its biannual Statewide Problem-Solving Coordinators Workshop via the video-conference platform, Zoom. The agenda featured remarks from federal officials Gregory Torain, Policy Advisor, and Karen Friedman, Director of Criminal Justice Innovation, Development, and Engagement from BJA; an overview of the Veterans Reentry Search Services (VRSS) tool; and presentations on how court operations and policies, as well as treatment court professionals, can become more trauma-informed. A facilitated discussion followed the presentation.
On April 27 and 28, 2022, the project team held an in-person launch event with various stakeholders. The event was held in Los Angeles, CA and was hosted by the Los Angeles Police Department. Approximately 90 attendees came to the two-day event. The goal of the conference was to hear from various stakeholders in the field on how the Knowledge Lab could and should be used to address the current challenges in the field.
On 06/28-30/2022 NJC hosted the virtual 2022 American Indian Justice Conference for all tribes and tribal organizations.
In partnership with the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), the National Governors Association (NGA) and the National Criminal Justice Association (NCJA) will host the 2022 Institute for State Criminal Justice and Public Safety Executives on August 16 – 17 in Annapolis, Maryland. The meeting will bring together governors’ criminal justice policy advisors (CJPAs) and state administering agency executives (SAAs) from each state to discuss key criminal justice and public safety issues, share successes and challenges, and highlight best practices.
Altarum has collaborated with several SMEs to develop a panel presentation for this year's NADCP conference in Nashville, TN. The session title is Practical Implications of Peer Recovery Support in Treatment Courts.
This conference was supposed to be held in 2020, and was delayed to 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This regional conference was in partnership with the Oklahoma District Attorneys Council and was open to all capital case and complex homicide prosecutors, with particular focus on regional attendees. Programming was generally related to capital/complex homicide issues and did not just focus on Oklahoma law.
Hosting a workshop at the 2022 IACP Impaired Driving and Traffic Safety Conference, focusing on how resilience can be used for law enforcement officers in the traffic safety and highway patrol sectors.
The PSN TTA team hosted the virtual PSN 2022 National Summit to Reduce Violence and Strenghten Communities from May 17-18, 2022
The VALOR Project hosted a workshop during the event describing the program and featuring speakers involved in VALOR Resilience Training. Topics covered included how to integrate resilience into agencies' existing wellness programs.
