RTI will host a convening on September 25-26, 2023 at RTI Headquarters in Research Triangle Park, NC. This convening will allow NCCP sites to come together to discuss challenges related to fatal and non-fatal shooting investigations.

On June 5th & 6th, 2023, members of the Law Enforcement team and the National Policing Institute hosted a Knowledge Lab Convening in Denver, CO. The convening was attended by representatives from all 15 Law Enforcement Mental Health Learning Sites and subject matter experts in police mental health collaborations. The Knowledge Lab Convening featured panels and speakers who discussed constitutional policing, procedural justice and best practices in mental health response.

On Tuesday, January 24, 2023, BJA, SAMHSA, and the CSG Justice Center convened a National Forecasting Group Meeting on the shared the opportunity 988 presents for law enforcement. The meeting set out to achieve the following goals: Build a collective vision for 988 as a shared opportunity for behavioral health providers, law enforcement, and communities, including the opportunities presented by the new national dialing code to reduce avoidable contact with the criminal justice system and address disparities.
