An integrated and comprehensive week of memorial activities that honor the memory of the officers lost in the line of duty, and building the basis for law enforcement survivors to understand ways they can begin to rebuild their shattered lives. C.O.P.S. Survivor's Conference includes over 70 counseling and debriefing sessions facilitated by professional counselors and peer support staff each year.

The National Center for School Safety, in collaboration with the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), hosted a school safety conference in Richmond, VA on August 8th through August 10th for recipients of BJA STOP School Violence Awards and other school safety practitioners.

This third of four quarterly convenings of the IRI/Smart Reentry Track grantees was held in-person over 1.5 days in Arlington, VA. Participants engaged in a variety of sessions with the following objectives:
- Explore best practices in reentry
- Identify lessons learned, areas for growth, and next steps for programming for the field
- Connect with other Smart Reentry grantees to share and learn about challenges, successes, and innovations across sites

During this reporting period, in collaboration with BJA, the FTTA team began planning the first annual Forensics Program Grantees Meeting. BJA requested this inaugural event be virtual. The FTTA team drafted an agenda with significant input from BJA and submitted the appropriate documents for conference approval on June 30, 2023. The FTTA team also began internal conversations with the RTI development team about building the virtual event platform to host the event.

Missouri has signed on as the first Reentry 2030 State! In partnership with The Council of State Governments Justice Center and the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Justice Programs’ Bureau of Justice Assistance, the Missouri Department of Corrections plans to work with public and private partners to support incarcerated people in finding and maintaining employment upon release.

" The Council of State Governments Justice Center hosted a one and half day symposium for  Second Chance Act (SCA) Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and Co-Occurring Substance Abuse and Mental Illness (CSAMI) grantees. The event was held at Department of Justice Offices located at 810 7th NW Avenue, Washington, DC. 
Learning objectives of this event include: 
• Increasing access to comprehensive and collaborative behavioral health treatment during incarceration and/or while on community supervision.

This Second Chance Month event will provide an overview of higher education programs in prisons inside the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) and highlight the FDC as a Bureau of Justice Assistance Adult Reentry and Employment Strategic Planning Program (ARES) grantee. System-impacted leaders and speakers from Miami Dade College, Georgia Coalition for Higher Education in Prison, and other institutions will outline Pell reinstatement and discuss barriers to accessing postsecondary education in corrections.

The emerging issues conference will provide tribal justice system officials with recent legal updates impacting tribal courts and tribal justice systems and strategies to improve tribal court operations within tribal justice systems. Some of the topics that will be addressed at this conference will include:
• Impact of Haaland v Brackeen on tribal courts and tribal justice systems.
• Criminal jurisdiction updates to include and examination of Oklahoma v. Castro-Huerta and United States v. Cooley.
• Separation of powers for tribal justice systems.
