The Hate Crimes TTA team held a kickoff call with the Illinois Office of the Attorney General (OAG). The purpose of the call was to build rapport with site representatives, learn about Illinois OAG’s Matthew Shepard & James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act project activities, identify any challenges and emerging issues, and begin to scope out the site’s TTA needs.

The purpose of the call was to build rapport with site representatives, learn about Multnomah County DAO’s Matthew Shepard & James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act project activities, identify any challenges and emerging issues, and begin to scope out the site’s TTA needs.

The Restorative Justice Education in Treatment Courts project includes a pilot site collaborating with a mid-coast Maine drug treatment court (Belfast, ME) and a local community-based restorative justice center (Restorative Justice Project Maine) to help the Maine drug court infuse restorative justice principles and practices into the program approach. Robert Sand and Marc Wennberg hosted a three-day planning summit in Maine in late June 2024.

Provided faculty to facilitate two listening sessions on the topic of overdose fatality review teams in Indian country. 33 pre-written questions were prepared, covering a wide range of topics related to the overdose epidemic, OFRs, tribal engagement, cultural integration, and cultural integration, collaboration, data sharing, program effectiveness, and innovative approaches. Outcomes were categorized into two categories: Barriers that Undermine OFR Implementation and Tribal Participation in Neighboring OFRs, and Strategies to Strengthen OFR Implementation in Tribal Participation.

Meeting of the Advisory Council. Project Director Tiffany Lombardo began with opening remarks. Project Manager Joanna Lowry discussed current and upcoming projects since last meeting. Joanna also discussed current COSSUP solicitation and a QR code was provided to link to the information. Advisory Board members participated in an ice breaker and then Mylonne Sullivan discussed and summarized the Thought Exchange data that members participated in during the last Advisory Board meeting.

introduced themselves and Project Manager Joanna Lowry discussed the program. The members participated in a Thought Exchange. Members were encouraged to share their thoughts and any updates from the field. Altarum team gave an update of the PRSSMI.
