This was an external training for jurisdictions to understand how to use the CCAT. This training included an overview of risk assessment tools, the CCAT, and scoring practice. The training was for practitioners from Arlington, TX; Pasco, WA; and Kittitas, WA.

This presentation was given by Lindsey Price Jackson and leaders from Newark Community Solutions, including Hon. Vivian Sanks King. Municipal courts were developed with the intent to hold those who commit low-level and minor infractions accountable. Processing over 3.5 million cases annually municipal courts across the county are woefully under-resourced and struggle to manage the sizable caseloads they are tasked to process. This deficiency leads to disproportionate outcomes for lower income communities and communities of color causing harm to the jurisdictions they serve.

Organized by Judges in Western Washington, this Regional Community Court Retreat was attended by professionals (judges, prosecutors, public defenders, case managers, and service providers) from courts in Renton, Bothell, Enumclaw, Sumner, Lakewood, and Issaquah; Washington as well as members of the Washington State Administrative Office of the Courts.

NRTAC member Joseph Milek was to attend the 2024 LeadsOnline Conference in Kansas City, MO. As part of the NRTAC’s participation, Joseph was to attend the conference events to network with current local CGIC grantees and learn about existing violent crime reduction strategies initiatives to support violent crime reduction across the United States. Unfortunately, due to an unforeseen scheduling conflict, Joseph wasn't able to attend the conference.
